Slow Bend Test on Welded Rail Sections

Slow bend test is perfomed as part of procedure qualification and production runs. The welded sample (1150mm to 1200mm) in length with the weld in the center is subjected to loading under 3 point bending condition so the foot is placed in longitudinal tension. The load is increased in a controlled manner until the rail section fails.

Generally the machines are located in laboratory environment, but LMATS has implemented systems for portable Slow bend sevices on project basis.
